For over 15 years I have worked as an interior designer/decorator. It has been my pleasure to help clients make their homes an enjoyable space in which to live. My clients have often commented on my ability to "just know" what they wanted even when they didn't even have a clue. I observed that quite often at least half of our time together leaned in the direction of helping with their personal decisions rather than decorating choices. As you can imagine decorating someone's home involves becoming familiar with not only their favorite colors but their lifestyle in general. The relationship between a decorator and client must be very close if the end result is to be satisfying to everyone involved. Communication is a key factor and intuition a must. The transition from designer to lifestyle designer was very natural. It required obtaining some new skills and education, but the basic instincts and abilities were already in place.

In addition to my continuing education in personal coaching I bring with me all of the above experiences. I am constantly seeking new and better ways to help you achieve your goal for a more full-filling life. Most would agree that nothing is a better educator than life experiences and I have many to draw from.  I have two children and am married to a school psychologist.  Not only do I possess the ability to assist you with making your lifestyle more like the one you dream of, but I truly want to help.

Lifestyle designing (or coaching) is not a replacement for therapy. The job of a therapist or psychologist is very different from that of a coach. Therapists often tend to work with issues from the past that in many cases need to be addressed in order to obtain closure, heal and move on. I respect the benefits of a good therapist. Very often; however, at some point many psychologists will encourage their patients to utilize the services of a personal coach.  Some insurance plans, for instance, simply will not cover payment after a pre-established number of sessions for psychological services have been utilized.

Helping clients understand and achieve their goals is one of the main functions of a personal coach.  To design a lifestyle suited to your needs we will focus on the present and the future. What can I help you with today to begin your journey to a better life?

Beginning with our first conversation (the first 30 minute session is free) I will ask that you be prepared with the following information in order to help us both.

    1. Is there something that you have dreamed of for as long as you can remember, but have yet to obtain it? (This can be tangible or intangible)

    2. Are you committed to working toward your goals?

    3. Are you willing to work with me by doing "homework", when necessary, in between our sessions?

Through our phone conversations I will learn about you and your lifestyle. Change is not usually easy, which is the number one reason why so many people remain "stuck". With the suggestions and encouragement from your coach, along with your efforts, you should begin to understand what has been "holding you back". With this knowledge you will be better prepared to go forward, making changes, and feeling better for claiming what is rightfully yours…your life! Remember, there is a huge difference between being alive and living.
